Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of StringMatch (stringmatch.app). By using the site, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Last updated: June 2026
1. The Service
StringMatch is a free online tool that helps tennis, badminton, and squash players choose racket strings suited to their playing style. You answer a short quiz and the tool returns a ranked shortlist from our database of 157 strings. No account or registration is required to use the service.
StringMatch also publishes guides and articles about racket stringing. These are provided for informational purposes only.
2. Use of the Tool
You may use StringMatch for personal, non-commercial purposes. You agree not to:
- Scrape, copy, or redistribute the string database or recommendation scores without permission
- Attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the recommendation algorithm
- Use the site in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its availability
- Use automated tools to access the service at a volume that affects performance for other users
For commercial or data licensing enquiries, please get in touch.
3. Affiliate Links
StringMatch includes affiliate links to third-party retailers such as Amazon. When you click one of these links and make a purchase, StringMatch may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
Affiliate relationships do not influence which strings are recommended or how they are ranked. The scoring algorithm is applied uniformly across all strings in the database and is not adjusted for commercial reasons. Strings are never promoted based on affiliate availability.
4. Accuracy and Disclaimers
String recommendations are based on publicly available specifications, independent reviews, and stringing community data. We make every effort to keep the database accurate, but we cannot guarantee that all information is complete or up to date. String characteristics can vary between production batches, and individual playing experience will always differ.
Recommendations are suggestions, not guarantees. StringMatch accepts no liability if a string recommendation does not meet your expectations or if product specifications have changed since the database was last updated.
Content in guides and articles represents the views and experience of the author. It should not be taken as professional coaching or medical advice. If you are experiencing arm or shoulder pain, please consult a medical professional.
5. Data and Privacy
StringMatch does not require an account and does not collect personally identifiable information during normal use of the quiz. Quiz answers are processed in your browser and are not stored on our servers.
We use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to collect anonymised usage data (page views, session duration, general location). We also run Google AdSense, which may set cookies in accordance with Google's own policies.
For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
All content on StringMatch — including articles, the string database, the recommendation algorithm, and the site design — is the property of StringMatch and its creator, Asmit Shrestha, unless otherwise stated. You may quote short excerpts with attribution and a link back to the source, but you may not reproduce full articles or substantial portions of the database without written permission.
7. Third-Party Links
StringMatch links to third-party websites including retailers, manufacturers, and reference sources. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of those sites. Linking to a third party does not constitute an endorsement.
8. Limitation of Liability
StringMatch is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, StringMatch and its creator accept no liability for any direct, indirect, or consequential loss arising from your use of the site, reliance on its recommendations, or inability to access the service.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when they were last revised. Continued use of StringMatch after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
